He is a keen private pilot, student of history and sailor in his spare time. A Chartered Mechanical Engineer in the United Kingdom, he holds bachelor’s and PhD degrees in Engineering from Leeds and a master’s in business from Manchester. A native of Rochdale, England, he has worked in several manufacturing and engineering businesses in the UK and US for over 35 years. He is a former board chair of United Way in Lake County, the Lake County Workforce Development board, as well as the Illinois Workforce Investment Board. Andrew is an active volunteer and is enthusiastic about early childhood education and developing pathways for careers in manufacturing and engineering.
